Overview

We are seeking a proactive and skilled Shift Engineer to join our fast-paced production facility in Chester. This role is ideal for a mechanically or electrically biased maintenance professional looking to make a tangible impact in a high-volume, service-driven environment. You’ll be part of a collaborative engineering team, working to maintain and enhance machinery performance across the site.


Key Responsibilities

– Carry out routine maintenance on equipment including boilers, conveyors, and washers, in line with the site plan
– Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical faults to minimise production downtime
– Work closely with the engineering team to install and improve machinery
– Accurately record all maintenance activities for compliance and audit purposes
– Ensure all work complies with current health & safety legislation
– Participate in internal training and technical development initiatives
– Support continuous improvement across plant operations


Qualifications & Experience

– Relevant Qualifications in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
– Experience in fast-paced environments (FMCG or laundry preferred)
– Ability to read and interpret technical diagrams
– Strong problem-solving skills and a flexible, open-minded approach

Salary: £43600 – £49000 per annum + holidays, pension, gym discount etc.,
