We are currently seeking an Assistant Financial Controller to join the finance team at a luxury resort onan exclusive private island destination in the Turks and Caicos Islands. This is a unique opportunity to work in a luxury hospitality environment while enjoying an exceptional island lifestyle.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary: Approximately USD $60,000 per annum

Job Overview

The Assistant Financial Controller provides financial expertise to support the successful implementation of the company’s service strategy and initiatives while maximizing return on investment for ownership. The role supports financial planning, reporting accuracy, compliance, and operational decision-making aligned with the hotel’s overall business strategy.


Key Responsibilities

  • Reconcile balance sheet accounts monthly, ensuring all balances are supported by appropriate documentation in accordance with SOPs
  • Ensure P&L accuracy, confirming profits and losses are correctly documented
  • Monitor invoices to ensure they are current and/or properly accrued; coordinate with departments and suppliers to obtain missing documentation
  • Ensure all company and payroll-related taxes (including NIB, NHIB) are current, collected, and/or accrued
  • Submit financial reports within established deadlines
  • Analyze financial data to identify trends, risks, and underlying drivers
  • Generate accurate and timely financial reports, summaries, and presentations
  • Maintain financial ledgers and accounting processes
  • Attend meetings and training sessions as required
  • Perform additional duties or special projects as assigned by management

Requirements

  • Strong attention to detail with a focus on accuracy and timeliness
  • Analytical problem-solver with the ability to anticipate potential issues
  • Highly organized and systematic
  • Knowledge of controlling, reporting tools, and financial systems
  • Ability to work autonomously and under pressure
  • Team-oriented with respect for organizational policies and procedures
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build effective working relationships

Qualifications

  • Degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field
  • Professional accounting qualification preferred
  • Caribbean and hotel industry experience required
