Overview
A top legal 500 law firm based in the City is seeking a Compliance Co-ordinator, paying up to £40,000 plus benefits, to join their growing team.
Initially the role will be working on a hybrid basis, 3 days in the office and 2 from home which will then change to 2 days in the office and 3 from home after probation.
The position of Compliance Co-ordinator will provide comprehensive administrative support to the Head of Compliance and Senior Compliance Advisor. as well as the rest of the firm.
Duties will include the following:
- General administrative support for the department e.g. filing, photocopying, scanning, printing, binding, post distribution, typing, receiving of phone calls
- Organising meeting and diary assistance for the Head of Compliance and Senior Compliance Advisor
- Assisting with the Lexcel Independent File Reviews and Lexcel Annual Maintenance Assisting with the firm’s online training and identifying staff who have not completed their training
- Updating various Compliance registers
- Monitoring the firm’s Compliance Policies and assisting with updating them
- Assisting with the firm’s annual CQS re-accreditation
- Conducting AML/CDD of varying levels of complexity across a range of sectors, practices, and jurisdictions on all new and appropriate existing client instructions in a timely and efficient manner
- Anti-Money Laundering – assisting with implementing and conducting Know Your Customer (KYC) process
- Performing due diligence checks on new and existing counter-parties to identify risks and ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations
- Assisting members of the team with research projects and day-to-day compliance with AML regulatory matters as they arise
- Administering ongoing monitoring, enhanced due diligence and sanction regime procedures.
- Participate in internal audits and compliance reviews.
- Any other duties as may be requested from time to time by the Head of Compliance or the Senior Compliance Advisor
The ideal candidate will come from a compliance background and have ideally worked within a law firm or within a similar industry. You will understand the structure of law firms, working closely with partners and Solicitors, as well as audit and accreditations processes. The knowledge of Lexcel and use Partner for Microsoft would be advantageous.
