Overview

You will be joining a small finance team, reporting to the Finance Manager, you will provide core financial support focusing on credits and debits. This will include process invoices, expense claims, and financial transactions.

We are working with a well established membership body with an international presence. With over 1,000 employees their mission is to education, fund research and promote good practices, they offer educational programs and put on three core events each year.

Description

  • Process invoices, expense claims, and financial transactions.
  • Chase unpaid membership subscriptions and orders for payment.
  • Handle basic bank reconciliation and payment setups.
  • Reconcile credit card and month-end accounts.
  • Monitor VAT (UK or international).
  • Maintain spreadsheets and respond to finance queries.
  • Assist with ad-hoc projects and meetings (online and in-person).
  • Provide coverage during staff absences (holidays/sickness).

Profile

A successful Finance Assistant should have:

  • Ability to work from home office.
  • Reliable, trustworthy, and able to handle sensitive information.
  • Fluent in English with excellent writing skills.
  • Knowledge of double-entry accounting and multi-currency banking.
  • Xero experience would be highly beneficial.
  • Minimum AAT level 2 & 3 accountancy qualification.
  • Experience in customer service (email/telephone).
