Real Estate Lawyer
Bristol

My client are a Top 50 law firm who are seeking a skilled Real Estate associate to join their innovative legal services team. This group is comprised of over 100 professionals, including lawyers, paralegals, management information specialists, and legal project managers, offering a variety of services and solutions to clients. The team also assists the wider firm on high-volume workflows, managed services, and bespoke projects.

Whilst this role is based in Bristol, you will have the option to work remotely for 3 days a week with the remaining days being in the office.

The ideal candidate will be technically proficient and have experience in commercial real estate transactions, including planning issues and lender reporting. You will manage a team of paralegals, overseeing their training and supervision, and work within a sub-team of 3 lawyers and 15 paralegals. The team handles a range of real estate projects, including title reviews, post-completion services, and document production for high-profile clients such as retail chains, lenders, and national developers.

Responsibilities include:

  • Handling real estate transactions such as licences to alter, lease renewals, and sub-letting for pension providers and government departments.
  • Overseeing the drafting, negotiation, and completion of planning agreements (S278, S38, S104).
  • Managing easements and wayleave agreements for utility providers.
  • Working on real estate finance transactions, including redemptions, deeds of substitution, and repossession sales.

You will support workstreams for clients in sectors such as investment, development, retail, and planning. In this role, you’ll manage existing workstreams, supervise paralegals, and collaborate with the firm’s Real Estate team, project managers, and legal technologists to optimize legal services and onboard new clients.

To be considered you will be qualified UK lawyer with at least 3 years PQE in commercial real estate or real estate finance with previous experience of supervising and mentoring more junior fee-earners.

Job Tenure: Permanent and Full-Time
Salary: £60000 – £70000 per annum
